TeamUp review (2026): pricing, pros and cons

Наш вердикт

TeamUp is what a lot of studio and box owners wish more gym software was: focused, fairly priced and honest about what it does. Class and appointment scheduling, memberships, class packs and billing are handled cleanly, and the tiered pricing is published for anyone to read - still a rarity in this category. The trade-off is scope. TeamUp manages your schedule and your revenue, not your gym floor: access control leans on third-party door systems, there is no white-label member app, and there are no coaching tools to speak of. If your business runs on a timetable, it is one of the safest choices you can make. If it runs on an open floor with turnstiles, it is only half the answer.

Лучше всего для

Class-based studios, CrossFit-style boxes and small gyms that want dependable scheduling, memberships and billing with pricing they can actually see before a sales call.

Не подходит для

Open-floor gyms that need built-in access control, owners who want a branded member app under their own name, or operators who expect workout and nutrition coaching tools in the same system.

Плюсы и минусы

Плюсы

  • Publicly listed pricing, tiered by active members - easy to forecast and widely regarded as fair.
  • Class-first scheduling that handles recurring classes, courses, appointments, waitlists and memberships cleanly.
  • Flexible revenue options: memberships, class packs, drop-ins and online class access in one system.
  • Strong support and migration reputation among studio owners.
  • Backed by DaySmart since 2021, so the product keeps getting maintained rather than parked.

Минусы

  • Light on the gym-floor side: door and turnstile access depends on third-party integrations rather than a built-in stack.
  • No white-label member app; members book through TeamUp's own app and web experience.
  • No coaching depth - no workout builder, exercise library, nutrition tools or progress tracking for trainers.
  • Automations and reporting are serviceable but thinner than heavyweight club systems.

What TeamUp is

TeamUp launched in 2012 out of London as scheduling software for class-based fitness businesses, and it has never really strayed from that brief. Studios, boxes, martial arts schools and small gyms use it to run timetables, sell memberships and class packs, manage waitlists and collect payments. Since 2021 it has been part of DaySmart, the US software group, which brought resources without visibly changing the product's studio-first character. That focus matters when you evaluate it. TeamUp is not trying to be a club operating system in the Magicline or Mindbody mould, and it is not a coaching platform. It is the layer between your timetable and your bank account, and it is deliberately good at exactly that.

Where TeamUp wins

Scheduling is the heart of the product and it shows. Recurring classes, multi-week courses, one-off events, appointments and waitlists all behave the way a studio owner expects, and membership rules - class limits, pack expiry, drop-in pricing - map onto real business models without workarounds. Owners who migrate from clunkier systems consistently describe the switch as a relief, and TeamUp's support team has a strong reputation for helping with the move. The other headline is pricing transparency. TeamUp publishes its tiers, which scale by active member count, so you can price the software for a 60-member studio or a 400-member box before ever talking to anyone. In a market where quote-based pricing is the norm, that alone earns goodwill - and in our scoring it earns TeamUp one of the better pricing-value marks in the category.

Where it falls short

The gaps appear the moment your business is not purely class-shaped. Access control is the clearest one: there is no native turnstile or door hardware story, so 24/7 gyms and open-floor facilities need third-party door systems glued on. If unstaffed hours or hardware check-in are core to your model, TeamUp is fighting outside its weight class. The member experience is solid but generic - members use TeamUp's app and web booking, and there is no white-label option to put your own brand on the App Store. And there is essentially no coaching layer: no workout builder, no exercise video library, no nutrition tools. Boxes that want performance tracking usually bolt on a separate product, which is exactly the fragmentation some competitors sell against.

Pricing reality

TeamUp's pricing is tiered by active member count and publicly listed, with higher brackets and multi-location arrangements for larger operations. There is no free tier, but the entry brackets are affordable for a small studio, and because the tiers are published you can model what growth will cost you - a forecast most quote-based rivals simply do not allow. The thing to watch is bracket creep: as your active member count grows you move up tiers, so the effective cost rises with success. That is a reasonable model, but owners near a bracket boundary should check how active members are counted before budgeting.

Who should look elsewhere

CrossFit and functional fitness boxes that live on performance data should look at Wodify, whose whiteboard and leaderboard culture TeamUp does not attempt to replicate. Traditional and 24/7 gyms where turnstiles, member cards and unstaffed access matter tend to shortlist Trainera, which builds QR and turnstile check-in into the core product, adds a branded member app on its White Label plan and charges no per-member fees - though it is a newer brand with a shorter track record than TeamUp's fourteen years. In the DACH region, contract-heavy clubs usually end up on Magicline instead. None of that diminishes what TeamUp is. If your revenue comes from a timetable, it remains one of the most trustworthy picks in the category; the alternatives above only win when the business model stops being class-first.

TeamUp Цены

TeamUp lists its pricing publicly, tiered by active member count, with larger brackets and multi-location options quoted for bigger operations. Tiers and member-count definitions change over time, so confirm current pricing on goteamup.com before budgeting.

Часто задаваемые вопросы

It is strongest for class-based businesses: studios, boxes and small gyms that sell memberships and class packs around a timetable. Open-floor and 24/7 gyms that need built-in access control or turnstile check-in will find it light and usually pair it with door hardware or pick a platform like Trainera or Magicline that handles access natively.
