Trainerize Review: The Safe Default for Personal Trainers
Former gym owner, reviews coaching software full-time
Naš sud
Trainerize is the platform most trainers end up on, and for good reason. It does almost everything, the client app is stable, and the ecosystem around it is mature after nearly two decades. You pay for that breadth with an interface that feels dated in places and a per-client price that climbs fast once you cross 20 clients. If you want one tool that will not surprise you, this is the safe pick.
Najbolje za
Established trainers and small studios who want a proven all-rounder with a branded app and integrated payments.
Nije za
Coaches on a tight budget with only a handful of clients, or anyone who prioritizes a modern, fast interface over feature count.

Prednosti i mane
Prednosti
- Deepest feature set of the mainstream platforms: training, habits, nutrition, groups, automations, payments.
- Custom-branded client app on higher tiers, including a full white-label option through ABC.
- Large, well-tagged exercise library with video demonstrations.
- Reliable native apps and a big integration ecosystem (Apple Health, Fitbit, MyFitnessPal, Stripe).
- Strong documentation and an active community of coaches sharing templates.
Mane
- Per-client pricing scales aggressively; the jump from Grow (20 clients) to Pro (200) is a $30 to $60 monthly step with nothing in between.
- The web dashboard feels cluttered and dated next to newer competitors.
- Nutrition is functional but leans on integrations rather than a first-class meal-planning experience.
- AI features are still thin compared to platforms built around them.
- No free plan for coaches, only a 30-day trial.
What Trainerize is
Trainerize (now ABC Trainerize, after the ABC Fitness acquisition) is a client-management and workout-delivery platform aimed at personal trainers, online coaches and gyms. Founded in 2007, it is one of the oldest tools in the category, which shows up as both maturity and, occasionally, legacy baggage. You build programs, assign them to clients, track completion and progress, message inside the app, and collect payments, all under your own branding on the paid tiers.
The workout builder and client app
The program builder is the strongest part of the product. You can build supersets, circuits, intervals and progressions, attach your own videos or pull from the built-in library, and reuse templates across clients. The client-facing app is where Trainerize earns its reputation: it is stable, the exercise videos load quickly, and logging a set is a two-tap affair. Clients rarely need hand-holding to use it, which matters more than any feature list when you are trying to keep retention up.
Nutrition, habits and automation
Nutrition coaching is present but not the reason you would pick Trainerize. You get macro targets, a meal-logging integration with MyFitnessPal, and basic meal guidance, but coaches who sell nutrition as a core service often bolt on a dedicated tool. Habit coaching and the automation engine (auto-messages, program triggers, check-in reminders) are genuinely useful and save real time once you invest an afternoon setting them up.
Pricing reality
Trainerize lists Studio at $10/mo for 2 clients, Grow at $30/mo for up to 20, and Pro at $60/mo for up to 200. The gap between Grow and Pro is the pain point: a coach with 25 clients pays the same $60 as one with 190. Add-ons like a fully white-labeled app and SMS cost extra. It is fair value at the Pro tier if you are near capacity, and expensive if you sit at the bottom of a tier.
How it compares
Against TrueCoach, Trainerize wins on breadth (groups, nutrition, branded app) and loses on interface polish. Against newer platforms such as Everfit and Trainera, it trades a cleaner UI and more generous entry pricing for a longer track record and a bigger ecosystem. If you have already invested time building templates in Trainerize, the switching cost is real and often not worth paying.
Trainerize Cijene
Prices reflect ABC Trainerize's public tiers in early 2026 (Studio $10, Grow $30, Pro $60 per month). A branded app and SMS are paid add-ons. Confirm current pricing on trainerize.com.
