Best Affordable Personal Trainer Apps 2026 (Free & Low-Fee)
Coaching software should not eat your margin, especially when you are just starting out or running a lean roster. Yet many platforms charge per client, gate the useful features behind higher tiers, or ask for a card before you have earned a cent. We looked specifically at value for money: flat pricing, honest free tiers, and how much you actually get without upgrading. Below are the coaching apps that give solo trainers and small studios the most for the least, ranked by real-world affordability rather than sticker price alone.
- 1

Why coaches trust our verdicts
Built from primary sources
Vendor pricing pages, help docs and demos, cross-checked against independent user reviews on G2, Capterra and the app stores.
Scored on a fixed rubric
Five weighted criteria, applied the same way to every app. How we review.
No paid placement
Vendors cannot buy a ranking or a score. CoachStackReviews is published by the team behind Trainera, and we say so on every page.
Frequently asked questions
CoachStackReviews researches the software personal trainers and online coaches use to run their business, then writes up the trade-offs: verified pricing, a scored breakdown, honest pros and cons, and no paid placement. Below are the questions people ask most before they trust a review.
What is CoachStackReviews?
It is a site, published by the team behind Trainera, that reviews and compares the software personal trainers and online coaches use to run their business — training delivery, nutrition, messaging, client apps and payments. We research each tool from its public pricing, help docs and demos, cross-check independent user reviews, and write up what we found. There is no paid placement, and no vendor can buy a score or a ranking.
How do you make money if the reviews are free?
We do not earn affiliate commissions from any other vendor, and the links to the software we review are plain links with nothing paid behind them. The site is funded by the team behind Trainera, a coaching platform, which is one of the tools we cover and which we flag openly. If we ever add affiliate links, the affected pages will say so.
Which coaching software do you review?
The mainstream personal-training and online-coaching platforms: Trainerize, TrueCoach, Everfit, My PT Hub and Trainera, with more added over time. Each one gets a full review with pricing, a scored breakdown, real pros and cons, and a plain note on who it suits and who it does not.
How do you decide which tool is best?
We score every app on the same five criteria — ease of use, features, pricing value, client experience and support — then combine them with fixed weights. Pricing value and client experience carry the most weight because, for a working coach, they decide margin and retention. The full rubric is on the methodology page.
Is the pricing you list accurate?
We quote the lowest public paid tier and cross-check it against the vendor's own site. Software pricing changes often, so every review is dated and we ask you to confirm the current price before you buy. If a vendor changes a plan, we update the review rather than leaving an old number in place.
Do you take money from the vendors to rank them higher?
No. No vendor can pay for a higher score, a better ranking or a spot on a best-of list, and we do not earn affiliate commissions from any other vendor. Our own platform, Trainera, is reviewed on the exact same rubric as everyone else and does not get a free pass.
Which review should I read first?
Start with the best-of list if you are still choosing a category, since it ranks the main options at a glance. If you already have two tools in mind, read the head-to-head comparison. If you have settled on one, go straight to its full review for pricing, pros, cons and who it fits.
